Wow! I haven't updated the site in a long time! I guess I'll do that now! First off, thanks everyone for all the help and support you have given us over the last three years! We have helped out so many amazing pups! It is that time of year again when the flea problems are getting ugly, even with pups who normally don't have problems with them! We need donations! We would love to have donations of actual name brand topical flea prevention. Either in person or via a giftcard for a local vets office or Petco/Tractor Supply or other place that will sell the medication! We are needing it for dogs in the weight range of 55-110 pounds! If you prefer to make a monetary donation please do so via our paypal account and remember, we are a 501(c)3 so your donations are tax deductible!

I hope everyone had a fantastic Thanksgiving! With Christmas right around the corner our donations are down to literally zero and our intake is WAY up!! Your support is needed now more than ever in donations, fosters, volunteers to walk the dogs and social media savvy folks to share, share, share about our dogs in need!

We are gearing up for multiple events in 2015, this winter including the Klondike mid January for the Cub Scouts! We will celebrate St. Patrick's Day in style as we did last year! In the spring (Date not set yet) is our 1st Annual Change of Fate Bike Run! We are going to hold our Golf Outting mid summer and then in the fall will be our 2nd Annual Classics for Canines Car Show!! This year is going to be awesome!!

WELCOME!

Thanks for visiting! Let me tell you a bit about us!

Change of Fate was founded in August of 2013. We recieved our 501(c)3 (EIN: 46-4233215.) and Incorporation status in May 15th of 2014. My husband, Alex and I have dedicated our lives to helping out our absolute favorite breeds - sled dogs!

Our first year started out slow. Running the rescue out of our home in Wadsworth, we bring dogs right into our family for fostering, training and socialization. We do not have a kennel and rarely do we have outside fosters, none of a regular basis. Our dog intake was 46 total between Aug 2013 and August 2014. We treated a litter of 7 for parvo, 2 of those we lost but the other 5 are now healthy, happy almost adults living with perfect forever families! Not all of the dogs that we have taken in have been perfect, easy to place family pets but we have been lucky. We are dedicated to getting this number even higher each year!

5/25/14 Update. Three days ago we got a message regarding a Malamute mix puppy who was picked up as a stray in Germal Village of Columbus. The boy got to us Saturday morning. While messing around and setting up our new Twitter account (  @ChangeofFate  ) I ran across a missing ad for this same exact puppy! Same special markings! He was returned to his loving forever home this morning with OSU's very own Ezekiel Elliot!! (  @EzekielElliot   ) Ohio State University's freshman RB! He's very sweet and VERY tall! Totally amazing reunited story! <3 Happy Endings!

7/27/14: The 1st Annual Cannine for Classics! We had an amazing turn out today with over 30 entries!! Despite the weather and the impending threat of tornado's, thunder, rain and wind folks still came out to support us! You are all appreciated and we will see you again next year!! Check out the link up top for Canines for Classic for pictures and special thanks from the event!

11/22/15: Today we brought home two absolutely beautiful Malamutes! They had gone to the Wadsworth City holding facility for strays and their owners did not claim them. We learned that during their short sprint with freedom they unfortunately killed a small cat and in Medina County that warrants them for registration on the vicious/dangerous dog list. What this means is that they will carry an extra $50 registration each year and need to be kept on leash while outdoors at all times, unless in a securely fenced area. It's not uncommon for the northern breeds to have a dislike for small animals so this does not discourage us at all!! These two are super sweet with people, even small one's and will make the perfect addition to any family! They are in quarantine right now to make sure they didn't pick up anything from the stray kitty but they will be available for adoption soon! They will be posted very soon!
